What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is an evidence-based, non-invasive, and patient-centered approach to manual therapy focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to the neuromusculoskeletal system. Chiropractors have extensive training in conditions relating to the spine, muscles, joints, and the nervous system. Chiropractic care can help relieve pain, increase mobility, and improve strength. Chiropractors use a variety of safe and effective treatment methods, including education, joint mobilization & manipulation, soft tissue therapy, acupuncture, therapeutic modalities, and rehabilitative exercise.
What can I expect at my first Chiropractic visit?
Your first visit to Hampton Chiropractic Clinic will consist of a thorough history and physical examination in order to get a better picture of you, your health history, and the root cause of your current condition. After a diagnosis is established this will be discussed with you, and a treatment plan will be suggested and discussed as well. This may include a variety of manual therapy techniques, and each treatment plan is individualized and tailored to you!
What can chiropractic treat?
Head, shoulders, knees, toes – you name it! Chiropractic care can be used to effectively treat a variety of musculoskeletal conditions from headaches to ankle sprains, including the following:
- Headaches
- Neck, mid back, and low back pain
- Osteoarthritic pain (such as hip and knee pain)
- Sprains / Strains
- Injuries caused due to sport, motor vehicle, or work related incidents
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture can be used as part of a holistic approach to health care. Acupuncture involves the insertion of an extremely fine needle into a specific point on the body in order to induce the body’s natural healing response. This response promotes the release of internal signals that will ultimately lead to decreased pain, reduced inflammation, and improved mobility in the affected area. Electrical stimulation may also be applied to specific acupuncture points in order to enhance the effect of treatment. Acupuncture can be used in the treatment of both acute and chronic pain conditions.
